He frequently fired up the crowds at the legendary Parisian venue, Olympia. Gilbert Bécaud was an exceptional performer and his repertoire is one of the most original to come out of French chanson in the late 20th century. A bunch of French- and English-speaking artists have given a second life to his lyrics and music – like a tribute to this legendary musician.
