The Gabonese singer and musician Pierre Akendengué does not fall neatly into any existing musical category - which is perhaps the reason why this talented recording artist has not always enjoyed the success he deserves. Akendengué has, nevertheless, managed to make his mark on the international music scene with "Epuguzu", the definitive African song of the 80's, and the legendary "Lambarena", a highly innovative album on which Akendengué audaciously fused Pygmy chants with Bach’s cantatas.
